Last Sunday was my official last day of my committed with the PhotogenX. WOW! haha what a feeing. Over the past year and nine months I travelled to 16 countries sharing the love and freedom of Jesus Christ. Through my passion for people, photography, art and justice I watch God transform His children all over the planet.
I also experienced new cultures and did things that I would have never thought possible. I sang, danced and laughed my way around the world. I rode an elephant, swam with Great White Sharks and played with tigers. I took a selfie at the Parthenon and drank a cappuccino in the shadow of the Colosseum. I actually completed my bucket list! (Don't stress I made a new one;) )
Of course, the only way this was all possible was because of God. He is the only reason I was able to have this journey. :)
Even though this trip was amazing, it definitely had its low points. I was tested and challenged in every way possible. Haha but it was great! I feel like every test made me stronger and I learned a lot of valuable lessons. My Bible Verse for this trip was James 1:2-4 "2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
One major thing I learned is that an injustice can be big or small in the eyes of man, but to God they are all the same. Humans like to put things on a scale; we give value to things. I think this makes us forget that God cares about all his children the same amount, even those who seem to have it all. We all have injustice in our lives and it is not up to us to choose which injustice to try and stop, it is our job to love the people who God puts in our path unconditionally. That’s all He really calls us to do. Whether its meeting a human traffick victim in a brothel in Indonesia or a high school student with a broken heart at a youth centre in the UK, both of their situations are important to the Lord. It is our job to treat them with them same compassion and grace that the Lord has on us.
Overall my trip was amazing! I feel so blessed to have done all that I have. Thank you Jesus!
I am so excited to continue my adventures with Jesus. Cheers to a new season!
